I needed a way to warn my users when they were using their zimbra webmail that email came from external domain and be aware of phishing attempts.  I was able to modify and existing zimlet to display a yellow banner.

For users that are reading an email on their phone client they would not get the above warning banner.  I wanted to rewrite the subject with external.  We are using Sophos UTM 9 for our mail filtering gateways so I made the change on the Sophos UTM 9 exim to tag emails from outside our domain with [EXTERNAL]

When users forward the external email outside the company I wanted to remove the [EXTERNAL] tag in the subject so I added an additional elif block to the system_filter on exim.
